Elizabeth May was the first Green MP, elected in 2011, and won a third re-election in the 2021 election. She has held government accountable and has effectively represented the people of Saanich-Gulf Islands.

Elizabeth was leader of the Green Party of Canada from 2006-2019, and is now Parliamentary Leader of the Green caucus, which also includes Mike Morrice, MP for Kitchener Centre.
